The Kwara State Council of Ulamau has Said that Jum’at prayer in the State is still on hold Due to the outbreaks of COVID-19.
The Secretary of the Committee, Justice Salihu Olohuntoyin Muhammed, stated this in a statement issued on Thursday in Ilorin
The Statement charges Muslim Ummah that Jumat prayers will commence across the state as soon as the committee complete its consultations with stakeholders  and government authority.
He noted that this followed the directive of the Emir of Ilorin and Chairman Kwara State Council of Chiefs, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari.
According to him, “I am directed to inform Muslim Ummah that Jumat prayers will commence as soon as the ongoing deliberations by the Kwara State Council of Ulamau, government representatives and relevant stakeholders is completed.”
He however appealed to Muslim Ummah to remain calm and resolute on the fact the authority is taking serious caution against the spread of COVID-19 infection among worshippers in the state.
The group also urged religion leaders to adhere strictly to the instruction in a bid to support the government and the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control,  (NCDC) in their fight against the global pandemic of COVID-19 in the state.(MR)
