Ilorin Bar is no doubt one of the foremost branches of the NBA. I received the good news of their peacefully conducted election. Today 29th June, 2020, transition of leadership to the newly elected officers takes place.
Let me say this, the newly elected members are people of honour and integrity. I met some of them in my last visit to Ilorin Branch during Book launch in honour of our revered Chief Wole Olanipekun SAN. I look forward to working with these new leaders to reposition the Bar for a sustainable development.
To those that lost the election, I must say that it is not the end of road as your knowledge and contributions to the Bar will still be very relevant and be of a great assistance to building a vibrant Bar. You are all great men.
To the winners, I have known Mr Ganiyu Bello, Chairman elect as a good man who is always ready to serve and has acted and served in different capacities to assist the Bar.
JS Muhammed Secretary elect is also another man of of note who has served the Branch as Chairman, YLF.
To all other officers who I have met and yet to meet, on receiving your mandate to serve in your various capacities, I congratulate you and I hope and believe that together we shall promote the welfare of the branch and the National Bar in general.
I also congratulate the outgoing administration led by Mr MAI Akande for a successful tenure.
I have over the years followed ilorin Bar politics with a keen interest. The Branch is one of the most respected branches which has produced in succession two past NBA presidents: Chief Wole Olanipekun SAN and Chief Bayo Ojo SAN.
I have no doubt whatsoever that the new officers will sustain the good leadership ilorin Bar is known for.
Congratulations once again!
