With the heavy down pour begin experienced across the country which has caused flood to destroy properties worth millions of Naira.

The residents of Abata Jagun, Baba Soldier Street, Sobi road in Ilorin East Local Government of Kwara State has taken a proactive measure to reduce the damages caused by flood in the area.

In an open letter titled “The flood in the hearts of Abata Jagun Baba Soldier’s resident, Ilorin” by the coordinator of AA Political Agenda Forum, Comrade Saka Shuaib said the community had spent over one million Naira to control flood in the area before the outbreak of Coronavirus that affected fund and caused the project to uncompleted.

“the erosion has caused lots of damages in the area including the lives of our domestic animals and a house had collapsed because of the recent flood in the community ” the letter reads

The people of the community urged the Kwara State Government under the leadership of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq to complete the project to avoid further loss of lives and properties. They also pledged their support for the success of the present administration.

 

For Kwara State to develop, there is need for joint efforts between communities and government and other communities need to learn from the giant step taken by the residents of Abata Jagun, Baba Soldier’s Street Sobi in their effort to assist the government in developmental projects.
