
The Newly appointed Board Chairman of the Kwara State Road Maintenance Agency (KWARMA), Honourable Bolakale Oloje has solicited for the cooperation of staff of the Agency to enable him succeed on the task ahead.
He made the plea on Thursday morning on assumption of office, urging both the management and staff to redouble their efforts and commitment to duties. Recall that the state government announced the appointees for the job late Wednesday, on the basis of what was described as fruit of dedication and integrity display.
Hon. Oloje, while acknowledging the high level of professionalism with which the agency has been executing road projects in the state, said there was the need to consolidate on the success, noting that the present administration is not toying with the principle of giving value for money.
The Chairman, who thanked the Governor, AbdulRahman AbdukRazaq for deeming him fit for the post, pledged not to betray the confidence reposed in him. He assured the staff of a total commitment of the board to their welfare, and the public a sustainable regard for standard on projects execution.
In his remarks, the State Commissioner for Works, Engr. Suleiman Rotimi iliasu expressed satisfaction at the appointment of the Chairman and assured him of an unflinching support to enable him triumph on the given mandate.
Engr. Rotimi however extolled the leadership quality of the Governor and his renowned promptness at approving release of funds for key capital projects at lower cost.
Also speaking, the General Manager of the Agency, Engr. Usman Baba Jibril described the appointee as a round peg in a round hole, hoping that their working relationship would be cordial and impactful. He vouched for the dedication of staff especially the engineering personnel to duties,
Contributing, Mr Amos Tunde Thompson, Secretary of the Agency, who also spoke in that direction, said the staff have and will never compromise standards in their responsibilities on the fields.
