The Kwara state government, on Tuesday, expressed worry over increasing rate of sexual harassment and violence against women in the state.

Mrs Deborah Abosede Aremu, the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, expressed the government’s position in a statement by her Ministry’s press secretary, Mrs Muinat Abdulkadir, in Ilorin, the Kwara state capital.

Aremu berates the rising scourge of sexual harassment violence against women, warning that the government will henceforth leave no stone unturned to protect and prevent girl-child from being sexually molested.

She reiterated the government’s commitment to empower women and vulnerable people, with a view to curbing incidence of gender based violence.

Aremu reaffirmed that the government is passionate about giving women their rightful place in the society and strengthening them economically, thereby called for support from relevant Non-Governmental Organizations to enable government achieve its goal.
