The October 1st is a day of celebration for Nigerians.
I belaud the effort of our freedom fighters who fought tooth and nail for the nation’s Independence.
Fellow Nigerians, as we mark Nigeria’s 60th year of nationhood, this day offers us an opportunity for celebration, reflection, and rededication: celebration of that historic day when we joined the league of free nations; reflection on how far we still have to go to give full meaning to our freedom, and the commitment we must continue to provide for the actualization of the nation’s dream; rededication on how firm we should stand for the progress of this nation.
I join the rest of my counterparts nationwide to celebrate this year’s Independence. I pray for President Muhammadu Buhari, that God Almighty will grant him wisdom, knowledge, perfect health and understanding to succeed in his administration. And I also pray for the peace of our dear country at large. I also pray for the Executive Governor of Kwara State, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq that Almighty God will continue to strengthen him to move Kwara to a greater height. Since the inception of his administration Kwarans has been singing praises of him for the instant positive changes in the state.
Fellow Nigerians, our nation is today faced with a number of daunting challenges. However, in the face of all these challenges, our resolve and abiding faith must remain unshaken. We must see today’s challenges as veritable opportunities waiting to be translated into stepping stones to an assured destiny of peace, progress, and prosperity for our common posterity.
Happy 60th Independence Anniversary to all the people of Ilorin West Local Government Area.
Happy 60th Independence to all Kwarans, and Nigerians at large.
May God continue to bless Nigeria.
Ilorin West Local Government Chairmanship Aspirant.
