Matchday 5:
Welcome back from the international break, match day 5 was a very exciting time out in the English Premier league. The lunch time kickoff of the day is a big tussle that took us to the Merseyside derby, Everton was visited by the defending champions at Goodson park, an early goal from Sadio Mane was cancelled out by Michael Keane’s header then another goal was gifted to Salah from Yerry Mina’s poor clearance to put the champions on the lead but hopes were restored for the toffees and both team resolved to share point after Cavert Lewin slot in a goal on the 81st minute to end the game. The game is aptly followed by Frank Lampard’s boys playing against Southampton, the blues started frantically and are two goals up before 40th minute, both goals coming from the summer signing Timo Werner but the frailties in the blues defense is still a matter to be discussed as they later conceded late in the game to also end in a draw.
Aside Manchester United and Manchester City that took away all three points, all other top Six settled for a draw with Tottenham also throwing away an early 3 nil advantage to go 3:3 on the full time.
Only AstonVilla has an 100% start to the new season after Ross Barkley’s stunner against Leicester to claim all three points.
