It is a very beautiful day to behold welcoming the league back to dominance. The 2021 NWFL Premiership began on Wednesday, 9th of December 2020. With the rumble going on in seven different centres occupying fourteen marvelous teams.
Confluence Queens hosted Rivers Angels in the first encounter of the day. A very early goal from Edet Glory place the Confluence Queens ahead but a quick response from the Angels made both team settling for a point. Pecking them in 7th and 8th on the league table.
Abia Angels went on rampage against Pelican Stars, dimming the shine of their stars with two stunning goals. The defeat lives the Stars in the 12th place just goal difference over the relegation zone. Margaret Ademulegun and Jane Abraham’s goal Abia Angels secure maximum point but not enough to put them at the top of the table on goal difference. They seat comfortably at 3rd behind Edo Queens who brutally defeated Royal Queens 4:1 and Delta Queens also won on the same goal margin. Both are joint leaders on the table. Queens ahead of Angels.
Ibom Angels lost their fortress to Osun babes, the Angels were defeated by lone goal. The defeat leave Ibom Angels in 11th position and Osun Babes in Top 6.
Lagos based side FC Robo Queen grabbed a crucial win on the road at Nasarawa. Shobowale Rukayat stole a fast shot about half hour into the game and that called it a day. The win pecks FC Robo at 5th on the table the Amazons in 10th.
Sunshine Queens couldn’t fight back into the game away with Bayelsa Queens. Bayelsa Queens took their chances very early into the game. The Sunshine Queens managed to score one back but one not enough to earn a point.
Bayelsa Queens sits 4th on the table as 5 teams are joint leaders after all winning their first games.
