Chelsea, alongside a whole host of other clubs across the world, could be setting themselves up for transfer raid on Ligue 1 in the not too distant future.

The French top-flight is under increasing financial difficulty after it emerged on Tuesday, according to French daily newspaper L’Equipe, that the league had just 48 hours to be saved.

With the league having become under such financial strain, it is poised to force Ligue 1 clubs into reducing their respective wage bills and cut their cloth, which in turn should see asking prices for players come down sharply. That news could alert Chelsea, as they have been no strangers to signing players from France in the past.

Amongst those that could be allowed to leave their respective clubs for a cheaper price than you would usually expect is Kylian Mbappe, who, at times, has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge.
