Michael Owen has urged Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp to back goalkeeper Alisson “through thick and thin” after the 28-year-old made another error in the Reds’ 3-1 defeat to Leicester on Saturday.
Liverpool were leading 1-0 thanks to a goal from Mohamed Salah before the Foxes scored three goals in the space of just seven minutes to secure all three points.
After James Maddison put Leicester level with a free-kick, a miscommunication between Alisson and debutant Ozan Kabak allowed Jamie Vardy to walk the ball into an empty net to give his side the lead.
It comes after Alisson made two blunders which led directly to goals in Liverpool’s 4-1 loss to Manchester City last weekend.
Former Arsenal striker Ian Wright added: “We’ve catalogued all the unbelievable things he’s done so you’re not going to, in three games, with the mistakes he’s made, start thinking about new goalkeepers or dropping him.
