‘Igbo man appointment’: Kwara north group threatens Ndakene with recall

Kwara North constituents involving members of the Edu, Patigi and Moro federal constituency have expressed disappointment in the appointment of an Igbo descent by the lawmaker representing the area at the federal House of Representatives, Hon. Ahmed Ndakene, saying it’s disrespectful, unacceptable and a way of saying his people are no longer useful.

This was disclosed in a statement jointly signed by Comrade Abdullahi Jiyah and Architect Suleiman Bako Muhammed; President and Secretary, Kwara North Emancipation Movement

The constituents expressed that while they are seriously battered over his poor performance as a lawmaker who has never been seen or heard during any plenaries since his inauguration at the green chamber in June 2019, it’s incomprehensible the lawmaker could doubt the strength of his people.

The group disclosed that it voted out the Saraki dynasty because of their leadership ineptitude and total disregard for the people they represent but people like Hon. Ahmed Ndakene who secured the APC party ticket and won the election on a platter of gold is doing worse than those we voted out.

They equally alleged that Hon. Ndakene hardly picks calls from his party members, elders and youths of his constituents including his colleagues at the green and red chamber of the National Assembly even when they have vital information to share with him.

“He has succeeded in turning himself to Abuja lawmaker and become a regular customer at five-star hotels, he has never spent a week with his constituents since he was elected, the statement added.

“We expected Ndakene to take a clue from his counterpart from Baruten/Kaiama Federal Constituency Hon. Umar Bio who has done about three massive empowerment, capacity building and facilitation of Federal Juicy jobs to his constituents.

The statement read further: “To worsen the case, Ndakene disappointedly appointed an Igbo Man as his senior legislative aide, this action attested to his total disrespect and embarrassment to the people of Edu, Patigi and Moro Federal Constituency who entrusted him with their mandate.

“The position of the SLA is like the engine room that drives the activities of a lawmaker and also serves as a wheel that keeps the constituency on track in the National Assembly, unfortunately, Ndakene appointed an IGBO man as an administrative head of his office, to oversee the challenges, happenings, and involvements in wide research on issues of Community, National, and International interest that will impact the constituents “HE DOES NOT KNOW” positively.

“This is the same Ndakene who is yet to get out of hook of certificate forgery scandal, who bought judgment which was dispensed in his favour base on a technicality.

“We at Kwara North Emancipation Movement cannot fold our arm while those we conferred our sacred mandate to represent us and bring dividend of democracy in Edu, Patigi, Moro continue to lavish our resources and divert them to foreign lands.

“We, therefore, give Hon. Ahmed Ndakene two weeks ultimatum to reverse the appointment of a foreigner as his senior legislative aide and appoint a competent member of his constituency as a replacement, to publish all the names that made his legislative appointment lists so that we can ascertain who among them are from the constituency, to start making moves to sponsor a bill that will have an impact on his constituents and facilitate jobs for our teeming unemployed youths of Edu, Patigi and Moro or face a recall.

However, a close ally of the lawmaker, who did not want to be identified, told The Informant247 that the appointed person is not an ‘Igbo man’ but a “Yoruba man” from Kwara state.
