Remilekun Banigbe, the Commissioner for Environment, stated this on Wednesday during a radio programme in Ilorin, the state capital city.
She pointed out that the felling of trees for charcoal is prohibited, adding that the issue of securing the forest has been taken to be of importance.
She added that all concerned government bodies and agencies are working together to curb what she described as an “environmental nuisance” in the state.
