……You have exhibited a high level of professionalism – COAS Lt Yahaya tells Troops
The Chief of Army Staff, COAS, Lt. Gen. Farouk Yahaya on Thursday led other service chiefs on an operational visit to the Headquarters 22 Armoured Brigade, Nigeria Army, Sobi Barracks in Ilorin
He was received by the men of service at the Ilorin, Sobi Barracks who had been on the ground, visiting troops in the frontline to boost their morale.
During the visit, the COAS was briefed by the sector commander on the operational activities of the servicemen in the ongoing counter-terrorism and counter-insurgency operations. The COAS and the service chiefs had interactions with other field commanders who also gave updates on the operational activities in their respective areas of responsibility.
Farouk was conducted round the barracks by the top army officers.
Addressing newsmen, Lt. Get. Farouk Yahaya commended the performance of the servicemen against fighting terrorism, adding that the performance had been impressive and encouraging.
He said that the troops had exhibited a high level of professionalism and resilience with the knowledge of the terrain, particularly during the challenging period.
