∗It is once again that time of the year when as Muslims under the umbrella of Muslim Lawyers’ Association of Nigeria (MULAN), we come together to rub minds and fratanize at the Annual General Conference, which this year is being held in Minna, Niger State and will be attended by delegates from far and wide.
The Prof. Ibrahim Abikan (who happens to be one of our leaders in the Ilorin Bar) led Executive Committee has been very resourceful with the theme of this year’s conference, “NIGERIA: A NATION IN NEED OF REORIENTATION, REINTEGRATION AND REHABILITATION”; same is succinct, considering the different challenges being faced by the our dear country and would go a long way in proferring possible workable solutions to the major issues at hand.
Nigeria needs to go through the 3Rs for her to experience the real transformation and change that we all crave for.
As I most humbly adopt this medium to wish all the delegates to this year’s conference safe arrivals and happy deliberations through the course of the conference, may I also remind us that we all have roles to play in ensuring that our dear nation attains this feat of the 3Rs.
That is why as Lawyers and more significantly Muslims, we must ensure we do our best not only to uphold our laws, but to also at all times, push for a better Nigeria.
We should always have the saying of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW) which says:
حب الوطن من الايمان .
(The love of one’s nation is part of faith) in mind and that regardless of whatever happens, we will be Nigerians, Identity-wise and culturally.
God bless MULAN. God bless the NBA.
God bless Nigeria.
