
1. Can we meet you?
My name is Olowe Nelson Okikiola. I’m from Osun state, Nigeria.i was born into a family of 4 my two siblings and my mother.
2. What inspired you to performing magic?
The first time I saw magic,I totally fell in love with it. The idea of being able to create a magical experience was like a dream come true. What really Inspires me is the way people react in amazement when they witness magic. They get shocked and amazed. I want to keep giving people that feeling. That’s my drive
3. How would you describe the type of magic that you typically create and how long have you been practicing?
My type of magic is spontaneous and engaging as I use everyday objects to create magic. It’s an art I’ve mastered for over 7 years now, performing in different places and under various conditions. Sometimes my magic is scary, comedic or visual, sometimes it’s mystifying.
4. What was your parents reaction when you performed your first magic?
My mother didn’t like it at first, because she always thought it affected by grades in school but she saw my passion for it and over time she gradually came to accept it. Now she wishes me well when I go out to perform. She tells me magic would take me to see the world!.
5. Who would you mostly like to collaborate/share the stage with as a magician?
I would like to collaborate with a few magician’s like myself to host the biggest magic show in Nigeria… magician’s like shin Lim, mat Franco (former AGT winners).
6. What other career would you be doing right if it wasn’t magic?
Whenever I’m not doing magic. I am also a trained digital marketer and small scale enterpreneur.
7. Where have you performed? What are your favourite and least favourite venues? Do you have any upcoming shows?
I’ve been able to perform at different programs, festivals, stage shows , birthdays,lounges clubs ,weddings etc.. I would say my favorite venues are festivals and stage shows because I love being on stage. My least favorite venues would be clubs because everybody just wants to get drunk and party. As we speak I’m working with my team to hold my first magic show here in Ibadan. It would be the first ever magic show in Ibadan. We’d be featuring various magicians from all over the country and other entertaining acts. We don’t have a date yet but Stay Tuned!!
8. How do you feel the internet has impacted magic as a career?
I would say the internet has impacted magic in Nigeria positively, because it’s easier to get certain materials that weren’t so easy to get a few years ago. Now we can order things online and we can also promote magic through social media as well.
9. Which famous magician do you admire?
Ever since I started magic I’ve always wanted to be like dynamo magician….I love his style of magic and he inspires me
10. If you could change anything about the industry, what would it be?
I think the entertainment industry is evolving gradually and more attention should be given to other entertainment arts asides music, comedy and acting. Special acts like magic, contortionist and so need more exposure.
11. What message would you like to give your fans.
For those of us that love magic. I want us to keep at it ….magic is beginning to come into the light in Nigeria.
12. What’s next for you?
I’m looking to round up on my education so I can face my career as a magician fully, I wish be able to travel and do a tour of magic someday.
