On Monday, June 5, 2023, the project team members of the Department of Chemistry and Industrial Chemistry at KWASU constructed and demonstrated a biogas pilot plant at the university.

The project’s goal is to ensure that the Malete neighborhood receives assistance with the low-cost production of renewable biogas from biomass for household uses and the production of high-quality manure. The initiative is a component of the Self-Prompted Community Outreach Program, overseen by the COP of the KWASU Center for Community Development.

To ensure compliance and order, we intend to relocate the projects to inner cities. The project team included Dr. Aliru Olajide Mustapha (Project Leader, Industrial Chemistryhemistry), Dr. S. A. Ahmed (Industrial Chemistry), Dr. Mrs. V. T. Olayemi (Industrial Chemistry), Dr. T. A. Ajao (Microbiology), Mr. Omotayo Jimoh (Agriculture), and Timothy Lawal Irumole (Industrial Chemistry).

We would like to express our gratitude to the supervising staff of KWASU COP Center for Community Development and the participating students in the department.
